Our name is "small" but our services are grand! The "Small Affair" refers to the tightly knit, and closely run company by owners John (Event Director) and Nikki Perry (Chef De Cuisine). Together John and Nikki have decades of formal and practical training in the food service field. Formally, John holds a degree from the School of Hotel Administration at the University of Denver, while Nikki is a graduate of the Epicurean French Culinary School of Los Angeles. Their work history includes executive positions in several 3-4 star restaurants and hotels, as well as a former partnership in a prominent NY times "Excellent" rated French Restaurant.
Since inception in 1998, Catering By... "A Small Affair" has earned solid "Boutique" status as one of the East End's exquisite caterers, with exacting service standards, innovative food, and most critically, exceptional price value, among the accolades. This great success has fueled expansion into full-service wedding and event planning - planning that encompasses far more than menu selection and staffing.
